Shamila Batohi is a South African lawyer and the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) at the National Prosecuting Authority; a position he has held since December 2018.

Shamila Batohi studied at the University of Durban Westville and completed her postgraduate at the old University of Natal.
Shamila Batohi began her career in private practice, followed by 15 years in the role of director of public prosecutions (DPP) in KwaZulu-Natal.
Shamila was also chosen to be in a high-level team, appointed by former president Nelson Mandela, to investigate apartheid-era hit squad activities.
She led the prosecution of Proteas cricket captain Hansie Cronje at the King Commission of Inquiry in 2000, and served as Director of Public Prosecutions for KwaZulu-Natal from 2000 to 2009
She has also been a senior legal adviser to the prosecutor at the International Criminal Court since 2009-2018.
